Bess Marathas (Xanthos) of Canton passed away December 3rd surrounded by her loving family. Born in Greenwich, CT, she was raised and educated in Astoria, NY. She went on to earn her Associates Degree from Massasoit Community College and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Eastern Nazarene College. She has lived in Canton for over 70 years and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed swimming, painting, helping those in need and spending time at the Canton, Stoughton and Sharon Senior Centers and attended the Monday Yoga Class at the Stoughton Senior Center. She worked as a Social Worker for several area Group Homes.
