Jennie M. Gomes, 96, of New Bedford died December 2, 2017 at Royal of Fairhaven after a brief illness.
Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Braz Gomes and Anna Correia, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Ms. Gomes was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She was formerly employed by Aerovox until her retirement.
Ms. Gomes enjoyed creole music, dancing at the Verdean Vets and was an avid photographer.
Survivors include many cousins, including Joseph Gomes and his wife Geraldine; and her cousin and caregiver, Kathy Esteves and her husband Tony.
Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, December 7th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, December 6th from 4-8 PM.
