Elisa (LaVita) DeSimone of Somerville died peacefully on Saturday, December 2, in the presence of her family. Born and raised in Calore, Avellino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Bernardino and Pasqualina (DiFronzio) LaVita.
Elisa was the beloved wife of the late Carmine DeSimone, and the devoted mother of Lucia DeSimone and Joseph DeSimone of Somerville. She was the dear sister of the late Giuseppe, Maria Grazia, Angelina, Attilio, Carmela, Adelina, Raffaele and Giovanni, and the loving aunt of Joe LaVita and his wife Flora of Reading, Antonetta Barletta of Roslindale, Anna Manganiello and Antonio LaVita of Somerville, Arthur LaVita of Lynnfield, Luciano LoPriore and his wife Giuseppina, and Bernardino LaVita, all of Italy, and the late Fiore LoPriore, Pasqualina Barletta and Carmelina LaVita.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, December 5 at 11 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family in the funeral home from 9 through 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
