Obituary

Francis Xavier Cahill, age 87, of Weymouth passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on November 30, 2017. Frank was born, raised, and educated in Somerville where he met his wife, Gerry. They got married in 1955 and settled in S. Weymouth in 1958 where they raised their family and cultivated many fond memories. Frank co-owned General Gravure Printing Company in Dorchester for many years. Later in life he dabbled working in the trades and other types of work, truly never wanting to be referred to as “retired”. Frank and Gerry also enjoyed many winters down in Fort Myers Beach, FL. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will always be remembered for his famous pancakes. Frank’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the South Shore Medical Center and South Shore Hospice for the outstanding care provided to Frank in his final days.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Geraldine Cahill (Fitzgerald) of Weymouth, his loving children Susan Cahill of Weymouth, Kevin Cahill of Weymouth, and Patricia Greene and her husband Robert Montpelier of Weymouth, and his cherished grandchildren Emily Ahern, Sara Cahill, Joshua Greene, and Stephanie Cahill. Frank is also survived by his great-granddaughter Caylee, and his sister Alice Clough of Everett, MA.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Frank on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 3-7pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Square) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home on Monday at 10AM for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral mass which will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth at 11AM. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Frank may be made to the Salvation Army at 25 Shawmut Rd. Canton, MA 02021.
