Obituary

Glenda M. Strosnider passed away peacefully on November 21, 2017 surrounded by her family and beloved dog, Sweetie. Glenda was born and raised in Greenville, TX to parents Albert Lee Kuhn and Abbey Lee Wachtler (Roland). She moved to California in the early 60's and settled in the Ojai Valley in 1970.
Glenda worked for Ventura County Mental Health for over 30 Years as a Psychiatric Technician after receiving her Licence at Camarillo State Hospital, and retired from the County in 1998. She also worked part time at the Ventura County Rehab Center, for a time, and taught level II Alcohol School. Her varied, education spans from, an AA degree in Alcoholism Studies, was a certified Alcoholism Counselor, attended the Nursing Program at Ventura College, received her Real Estate Licence, took spanish classes and was certified in a variety of multi-level marketing businesses.
Glenda is survived by her Son's - Rick Evan and Darrell Fine, Daughter - Kelly Barton (Fine), Step-Daughter - Debbie Lake, Grandchildren - Jessica Conahey, Mylon Nixon, Casitas Lake, April Lake and Great Grand Daughter - Phoenix Conahey, Ojai CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Strosnider in 2007 and Daughter, Cathy Robertson (Evans) - Kingman AZ. in 1990.
In Glenda and Johns 39 yrs of marriage they enjoyed camping, (especially with her grandchildren), traveling, spending time with family and getting together with friends to play cards or dominos. She served as treasurer and went on to be the President of the Ojai Chapter of the Womens Aglow Ministry, faithfully attended church and BINGO!
Her passion was helping others and in her retirement years, she was active in the Red Cross, including National Disaster Recovery, Citizens Emergency Response Team and Ham Radio Operator. She was a champion in motivating the community for disaster preparedness and relentlessly recruited people to participate in various disaster drills. A few years ago she was nominated to be ”Ojai’s Living Treasurer” by the Rotary Club.
She truly was and still is God’s Living Treasure!
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Do to the recent fire activity, Glenda's service are set to be rescheduled. Arrangements are under the care of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main St., 805-643-8623. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glenda’s name, to the Ventura County Red Cross.
