MARKEL, John J. Of Dedham, November 21, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Marguerite (Connors) Markel. Devoted father of Mary Markel Murphy and her husband David of Weymouth. Brother of Stephanie Grum and Johanna Morosky both of Forest City, PA.
John was a Korean War Veteran, U.S. Navy and a retired employee of Nissan Motor Corp. John supported causes that alleviated the plight of U.S. Native Americans. He loved fishing, bird-watching, and gardening.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Monday, Nov. 27 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Dedham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home Sunday,. Nov. 26 from 4-8pm. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
