Obituary

SOUTH HADLEY – Lorraine M. (Boutin) Boisvert, 88, of South Hadley, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, November 18, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at Mary’s Meadow in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born at home on Providence Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on February 24, 1929, a beloved daughter of the late Emile J. and Irene M. (Arbour) Boutin. She was raised in Chicopee and graduated from Chicopee High School in 1947. Following her marriage, she and her late husband, Robert, had lived in Illinois and Nevada while he served in the United States Air Force and together they moved to South Hadley in 1959 to raise their family. Following her husband’s passing, she continued to live in South Hadley before moving to Quail Run in Agawam. She was a former communicant of Saint Theresa de Lisieux Church in South Hadley where she also was a member of the Women’s Club. She was a member of the Chicopee Falls Women’s Club, Les Dames Franco Americaine and Les Dames Francaise. She currently was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee where she also was a member of the Aldenville Senior Club of the Church. She enjoyed music, dancing, jumbles, jigsaw puzzles, golfing and bingo games. She also had an extensive salt and pepper shaker collection. Above all, she loved spending time with her loving family and her many dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Robert V. Boisvert who was Called Home on February 28, 1986. They were married on September 17, 1949 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 36 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving children, Vickie L. Lovering of Conway, MA, Steven G. Boisvert and his wife, Karen, of Springfield and Lori A. Baker and her husband, David, of East Longmeadow; her five cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Swan and her husband, Kevin, Robert Lovering, Chelsea Dancy and her husband, Christian, Garrett Baker and Alec Baker; her three cherished great grandchildren, Colton Swan, Aubrey Swan and Carston Dancy; her dear sister, Viola Benard of Agawam; her dear brother, Joseph Boutin and his wife, Lisa, of Agawam; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Boisvert and Boutin families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear sister, Lillian Pulaski; and her dear brother-in-law, Lester Benard. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, November 25, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located at the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
