Rose (LaSala) Messina of Somerville died on Sunday, November 19. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Carmela (Covino) LaSala. Rose was a Somerville resident for almost 60 years.
Rose was the beloved wife of the late Charles Messina, and the devoted mother of Richard Messina of Salem and Kenneth Messina of North Andover. She was the loving grandmother of Christina, Steven, Jenna and Jessica, and the dear sister of Pasquale LaSala and his wife Emily of Medford, and the late Mary Spinale and her surviving husband Nat of Chelsea. Rose is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, November 25 at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston. Visiting hours Friday, November 24, from 4 through 8 PM.
