Obituary


Alfred Tripolone, Jr., age 70, of Brockton, died peacefully at his home, following a brief battle with cancer, November 16, 2017. For 36 years Al was the loving husband of Kathleen A. (Bouchie) Tripolone. Born in Herkimer, NY, he was the son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Primmar) Tripolone. Al was raised in Brockton, and graduated from Brockton High School and Massasoit Community College. He also attended Alaska University.

Al served in the Army during Vietnam, and was immensely proud of his service to country. He was employed as a Parking Control Officer for the City of Brockton until his retirement. Previously, he worked for Energy USA Propane for 13 years, worked as a janitor in area schools, and worked as an Ice Cream delivery driver.

Al was a member of the Enterprise Club, St. Patrick’s Parish for 37 years where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Scout leader and CCD teacher. He had also been a little league coach. He played semi-professional baseball for the Brockton Raiders and softball for the city on the Cape Cod Café team. Al enjoyed family time, cooking, playing cribbage with his wife, fishing, bowling and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He took great pride in working with his hands, which could be seen in his yard and garden.

Al was the father of Alfred Tripolone III and his wife Gabrielle of Taunton, Thomas Tripolone and his fiancée Tiara Walz of Colorado Springs, CO and Heidi Tripolone and her fiancé Brett Buchheister of Plainville. He was the brother of Betty Ann Loring and her partner Doug Pelaggi of Ellsworth, ME, David Tripolone of Brockton, Arthur Tripolone and his wife Linda of Lakeville, Virginia Lazarte and her husband Juan of Brockton, Antoinette & James Ross of Whitman, Laurie Tripolone and her partner John Williams of Pawtucket, RI, Mary Nutter and her husband Rick of Norton, Theresa Tripolone of Ruskin, FL, and Anna Tripolone and her fiancé Jeff Obie of Minot, ME. Al is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday, 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 9am for a funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 10am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
