Obituary

Arnold Lopes, Jr., age 87 of Raynham, passed away on November 16, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Raynham.

He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Greco) Lopes.

Arnold was born in Taunton, a son of the late Arnold and Mary (Nunes) Lopes, Sr.

Before retirement, Mr. Lopes was employed with the Bridgewater-Raynham School District a job he took great pride and enjoyed and prior to that he was a Union Carpenter.

Mr. Lopes proudly served his country with the Navy during the Korean War. While in the Navy, Mr. Lopes earned his High School Equivalency Diploma. He was a life member of the VFW, enjoyed traveling but most of all Arnold was a loving and caring person who was devoted to his family.

Besides his beloved wife Lorraine of 65 years, he is survived by his children, Donna Crane and husband Timothy of Plympton and Brenda Steek and husband Edward of Lakeville. He was the grandfather of Walter MacKinnon of CA, Kristen Hobbs of Plympton, Kellsey Cormier of Somerset and Tyler Steek of Fairhaven, great-grandfather of 5. Mr. Lopes was also the brother of David Lopes of Taunton.

Mr. Lope’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 8:45 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Ann Church North Main St in Raynham.

Interment with military honors will follow in Pleasant St. Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 20th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home)
