Lucille Johannah Fayard Heffner, age 103 of Louisville, passed from this world to her heavenly reward on November 14th at her home.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Oscar. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Cindy Clary and her grandson, John G. Clary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lucille loved to sew and crochet. She sewed every curtain in her home and used to sew clothes for her family as well. She was devoted to praying specifically for others and she also wrote prayers. Lucille was convinced the secret to her longevity was prayer and caring for others and taking care of herself.
She was a member of Mosaic United Methodist Church, and Shively Star #566, Order of the Eastern Star and Laurel 6 Court of Amaranth.
Lucille was a dedicated volunteer at Shively Area Ministries and Wesley Wearhouse, as well as other agencies. She received a Millenium Maker Award for her service from Jefferson County Judge Executive’s office.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 until 8pm at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. The Funeral will be Thursday at 1 pm at Owen Funeral Home with burial to be in Ocean Spring, MS.
