Roy H. Massie, 69, of Westport, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara C. (Medeiros) Massie.
Mr. Massie was born in Fall River, son of the late Arthur and Ida (Stevens) Massie and had resided in Westport since 1983. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the U.S. Army and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Prior to his retirement in 2010, he worked as a custodian for the Taunton School Department. He was a former member of the Fr. Joseph Bohr Knights of Columbus and the VFW Ouellette Post #8502, Westport. He was a member of the Touissit Country Club, Swansea. Mr. Massie enjoyed golfing and bowling and had a great sense of humor.
Survivors along with his wife include his 3 daughters: Lorri White and her husband Jay of Tiverton, Lisa Medeiros and her fiancé Kevin Yokel of Westport and Barbara Branin and her fiancé David Arruda of Fall River; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Arthur Massie.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, November 17, 2017 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
