Leon Herman Doyle
June 17, 1917- November 10, 2017


Leon H. Doyle, 100, of Anderson passed away at Bethany Pointe on November 10, 2017 and went to be with his Lord and Savior.

He was born on June 17, 1917 in Anderson, Indiana the son of Claude and Mabel (Brown) Doyle. He married Isabelle Illyes on June 17, 1939.

Leon and family became members of the Mount Hope Church in 1949 which later became St. Mathew United Methodist Church. Leon was a loyal member and helped the church as needed. Leon and Isabelle founded the Educational Endowment Fund at St. Mathew United Methodist Church.

He served in the United States Navy during WW II. Leon started his career at Delco Remy in tool and die and drafting. He later went to work for Cleveland Twist Drill and retired after 25 years of immeasurable dedication, quality of input and service in sales and engineering. He enjoyed his career and was a problem solver at work and home. Family, friends, traveling and golf were some of his interests.

Survivors include his wife of 78 years, Isabelle (Illyes) Doyle, sons; Gary W. (Nancy) Doyle, and Jeffery A. Doyle, 6 Grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law Caroline Doyle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mabel (Brown) Doyle, his middle son, Michael Leon Doyle, and a brother, Harold Lee Doyle.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Educational Endowment at St. Mathew United Methodist Church.
