Obituary

Maximilian “Max” De Filippis, a lifelong resident of Cambridge, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 9th in the Farmington, New Hampshire. He was 55.

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he was the son of Onofrina (Lopes) De Filippis and the late Fiorentino De Filippis. In February of 1963, six month old Max and his family came to the United States and made their home in Cambridge. He graduated from the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School with the Class of 1980.

Max was a kind hearted person that cared deeply for others, always thoughtful and loving. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with his niece and nephews the most.

Max was a sports enthusiast. As a younger man, he played hockey, baseball and football. As an adult he was always up to date on all is favorite teams.

Max was a cherished son of Onofrina De Filippis of Farmington, New Hampshire and was preceded in death by his father, Fiorentino De Filippis. He was the loving brother of Fortunato “Gus” De Filippis and his wife Tina of Jacksonville, Florida, Julie DaRosa and her husband Jack of Billerica, Andy De Filippis and his wife Becky of Henderson, Nevada. He was the devoted uncle of Nick, Alex, Devin, Brandon, Ian, Jalen, Jordan and Mia.

A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Thursday, November 16th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9 through 11 AM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
