Obituary

CHICOPEE – Judith C. “Judy” (Scarbo) King, 76, of the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in North Adams, Massachusetts on December 11, 1940, a beloved daughter of the late Frank J. and Cecelia T. (Siciliano) Scarbo. She was raised in North Adams and following her marriage to Bill King who was a career Air Force veteran, they both traveled extensively to many of his duty stations. In 1966, Bill and Judy purchased their home in the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee. Judy was employed for 30 years as a Pager and later a Customer Service Receptionist at the former National Blank Book Company, later Dennison National and Avery Dennison in Holyoke and Chicopee. During her leisure time, Judy was active and served as the former President of the NCO Wives Club in Bindlach, Germany. She was also President of the Friday Night Avery Golf League, a member of Club 15 at Avery Dennison and for many years was a member of the Sunday morning “Gang” at Southampton Country Club. Judy was the “Life of the Golf Course” and her infectious laugh could be heard by everyone. Most of all, she was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker to her family. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, William E. “Bill” King, Sr. They were married on October 3, 1958 in Clarksburg, Massachusetts and were blessed with over 59 years of happiness together. She also leaves her four loving children, Lyn M. Dion and her husband, Mark, and Gail C. Arsenault and her husband, Charles, all of Chicopee, William E. King, Jr. and his wife, Renée, of Westfield and Judy E. King and her wife, Susan M. Muzzy, of West Springfield; her two cherished grandchildren, Courtney A. Mendez and her husband, Jose, and Daniel P. King and his wife, Lacey; her six cherished great-grandchildren, Liam Lapointe, Cameron Mendez and Audrey, Trevor, Jerred and Lennex King; her four dear sisters, Lorraine Smith of Orlando, FL, Cecelia Kozik of Adams and Marie Harpin and Nancy Gagne, both of North Adams; her three dear sisters-in-law, Barbara King, Theresa King, and Patricia King, all of Clarksburg; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the King and Scarbo families. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear sister, Arlene Gregalis. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, November 14, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 7:45 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal Service will follow the Mass at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Joan of Arc School, 587 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 or to Mercy Hospice, 200 Hillside Circle, West Springfield, MA 01089.
