Bernard E. Hickey, age 84, of Natick, died on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the Tippett Home in Needham.
Born in Fitchburg, he was the son of the late Eugene & Annie (Dunleavey) Hickey. Bernard taught in the Waltham Public School system for many years. He also served in the National Guard for 42 years. Bernard was an avid hiker. In retirement, he enjoyed his employment as a park ranger in Sherborn.
For 57 years, he was the beloved husband of Anne (Krebs) Hickey; devoted father of Anne Marie Andrews & her husband Robert of Natick, Ellen Hickey & her husband Eric Michnovez of Boxborough, Patricia Hickey of Woburn, Margaret Sioui & her husband Daniel of Arlington Heights, IL and Michael Hickey of Peabody; loving grandfather of Walter and Clark Andrews, Nina and Nora Michnovez, Danielle, Joseph and Pavel Sioui and Christina Hickey.
Visiting hours at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at NATICK COMMON, on Sunday, November 12, 2017, from 3:00-6:00 PM.
Funeral services at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, at NATICK COMMON, on Monday, November 13, 2017, at 9:00 AM, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Patrick's Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 10:00 AM.
Interment services will be private.
