Wareham - Barbara (Perry) Amaral, age 82, died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA. Barbara was the widow of Armand Soares Amaral and the daughter of the late Constance Perry. She was born in Taunton, MA.
Barbara brought laughter and love with her wherever she went. She adored spending time with her grandchildren. She worked as a Teacher’s Aide for the City of New Bedford and she loved ballroom dancing and cheering for the Red Sox. She was a member of the American Portuguese War Veterans Club of New Bedford.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Amaral Newton, wife of James of Marston Mills; son, Mark Amaral of Fall River; grandson, Nathan Amaral and granddaughter, Maggie Newton; siblings, Judith Leanues of Taunton, Marsha Moore of Maine, John Perry of Los Angeles, CA and James Perry of Mesa, Arizona; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Shirley Thomas.
Visiting Hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Thursday morning, November 9, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. with a service to start at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery.
