Obituary

Lorraine (Murphy) Connolly, a 16 year resident of Stoneham and formerly of Medford and Dorchester, entered into eternal life suddenly on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. She was 81 years of age.

Lorraine was born in Boston on November 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Philip G. Murphy and Marie (May) Murphy. She grew up in Dorchester where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from high school. Lorraine was the part owner of Connolly's Diner, which was located on Rutherford Avenue in Charlestown in the late 1950's before it was relocated to Main Street in Charlestown. She loved all animals, cooking, and watching cooking shows.

Lorraine is the devoted mother of Daniel Murphy and his wife Teri of Quincy, Janet Murphy of Quincy, Thomas Connolly and his wife Kristen of South Boston and Laurel Anthony and her husband Paul of Stoneham. She is the loving Grandma Lorraine to Kerianne, Ryan, Derek, Jay, Jacki, Joanne, Devin, Kayla, Brendan, Erin, Shealyn, Mairi, Aiden, and the late Daniel, and to her great-grandchildren Maisey, Charlie, Cameron, Haleigh, Morgan, Emily, and John. She is also survived by her best friend Rogan. She is the beloved sister of the late Paul Murphy,Arthur Murphy, Jeanne Dudley, and Phyllis Goodens.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lorraine's Funeral on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
