DUDLEY – Robert “Bob” C. Kozub, 61, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at home surrounded by his family after a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Cheryl A. (Gasiciel) Kozub; 3 children, Bradley R. Kozub and his wife Kathryn of Grafton, Derek R. Kozub and his wife Erin of Solon, Ohio and Jillian C. Kozub and her fiancé Michael F. Kane of Bellingham; 2 grandchildren, Shannon and Garrett Kozub; his mother-in-law, Eva M. Gasiciel; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law in 1980, John J. Gasiciel and by his sister-in-law in 2000, Christine M. Gasiciel.
He was born in Webster, the son of Casimir T. and Theresa A. (Jezierski) Kozub. He was a graduate of Bartlett High School, class of 1974, earned an Associates of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy from Holliston Junior College in 1976, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rhode Island College in 1981.
Bob worked for the past 36 years as a registered nurse at UMass Memorial Medical Center in neuro/trauma ICU. Prior to that, he worked as a respiratory therapist at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam for 5 years.
He was a parishioner of Saint Anthony of Padua in Dudley and a member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association. He took great pride in his yard and gardens. He enjoyed running, going to the gym, and vacationing. His greatest treasure was the time he spent with family.
The funeral will be held Monday, November 6, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a Memorial Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 5, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and again from 8:30 to 9:30 AM on Monday, in the funeral home.
