Betty Ruth Hayes, 75, of Tifton passed away Friday, November 2, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Rickey Revels officiating. Mrs. Hayes will be laid to rest at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 5, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Josh Hayes, Hunter Hayes, Dale Hayes, Michael Hayes, Kevin Anderson, Chad Barfield and Brock Fitzgerald will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 26, 1942 in Sylvester, Mrs. Hayes was the daughter of the late Neal Coker and Estelle Adams Coker. She was also preceded in death by six sisters, Julia Mae Howell, Lois Dean, Ruby Murphy, Mary Nell Riley, Martha Love and Sue Harnage; and one brother, Howard Coker. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved making flower arrangements and had lived in Tifton for the past 57 years.
Mrs. Hayes is survived by her husband, Billy Hayes of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dale and Tanya Hayes of Lenox and Michael Hayes of Tifton; two daughters, Rhonda Lane and Michelle Ellis, both of Tifton; one sister, Hildred Goff of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
