Obituary

Philomena (Blasi) DeSanctis of Melrose died on Wednesday, November 1. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late James and Giovanina (Melchionda) Blasi.

Philomena was the beloved wife of the late Hoover DeSanctis, and the devoted mother of Susan DeSanctis of Lincoln, Jo-An DeSanctis of Concord, and Paul DeSanctis of Wakefield. She was the loving grandmother of Michael Rhodin and his wife Elyse of Stow, Emily Butters and her husband Forrest Butler of Brunswick, ME, and Elizabeth Butters of Brooklyn, NY. Philomena was the loving great grandmother of Adam and Emma Rhodin, and Lucas and Frances Butler. She was the sister of the late Michael, Elizabeth, Emilio, Anthony, Albert, Concetta, and Angelo, and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, November 6 at 8:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Sunday, November 5, from 4 through 8 PM.
