Obituary



Doris R. Ferullo, of Lowell passed away peacefully at the Lowell General Hospital, October 29, 2017. She was 92 years of age. Doris was the beloved wife of the late Louis F. Ferullo. Born in Wakefield she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Rose (Guertin) Fallon.

Doris was raised and educated in Charlestown. She worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at the former Princeton Boulevard Nursing Home in Lowell. In her leisure time she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, crocheting, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Her greatest joy was her family and she especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and those she loved. The family of Doris would like to acknowledge the tremendous care given to her by the nurses of Saints Memorial Hospital and at Lowell General Hospital units D3 and D4.

Doris is Survived by her children; Ann M. Hanscom and her companion Thomas Frankland of Lowell, Patrick L. Ferullo and his wife Donna of Lowell, Doris Williams and her husband Denny of Texas. She was the loving grandmother of Patrick Ferullo and his companion Krystal, Alton Ferullo and his wife Stephanie, David Hanscom, Danielle Jester and her husband Stephen, Denise Shaffer and her husband Aaron. She was the loving great grandmother of Makayla, Arianna, Jayden, Mia, Jordan, Anna, Casey, Luke, Sarabeth, Benjamin, Ivan, Alyssa and Aiden. She is further survived by her dear friends, Laura Davidson of Nashua, NH and Toni Edwards of Lowell.

In addition to her late husband and parents, Doris is sadly predeceased by her son-in-law, Douglas Hanscom.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 main St. Wilmington, Monday, November 6th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
