Obituary

Melodie (Mel) G. Johnson, age 60. Passed away October 30, 2017 after a long, hard fight with numerous medical issues. She was surrounded by her loving, devoted Parents, Pat and Jim along with other family members at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough, Maine. She was born in Biddeford Maine on November 14, 1956, to James and Patricia Seward. She live at Biddeford Pool, attended Biddeford schools and graduated from Biddeford High School. Before becoming disabled, she worked at Mulligans in Biddeford as the Kitchen Manager. Mel worked with George as he grew his business from a one employee kitchen serving snacks to kitchen serving a full menu. Mel had several favorite pastimes. Camping and canoeing down the Saco River with her Sisters and friends. Watching TV and most especially the “Wheel” of Fortune. Making jigsaw puzzles, gardening and decorating her home for the holidays. Christmas was her favorite. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, Daughter Candice and her husband Will. 10 Grandchildren, Chastity, Isaiah, Isabelle, Lucas, Davonte, Devan, Heather, Jamie, Tina, Daniel and four Great-grandchildren. She is survived by her Daughter Candice Colman, her Husband Will, their Children and Grand Children. Her parents, Jim and Pat Seward of Lyman. 2 brothers, Jimmy Seward and his wife Dianne of East Waterboro, Scott Seward and his wife Becky of Lyman, 4 Sisters, Deanna Perreault and her husband Olie of North Waterboro, Roxanne Croteau of Saco and her boyfriend Roger Taschereau of Arundel, Angela Seward of Saco and Andrea Seward of Limerick. And several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and cousins.
Funeral services to be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Goodwins Mills Advent Christian Church, 503 Goodwins Mill Road, Dayton, Maine 04005. Visiting hour 2PM. Memory service at 3PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Animal Welfare Society, 46 Holland Road, Kennebunk, Me. 04043 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
