Obituary

Charles W. Quilty 83 of Natick died Sunday October 29, 2017 at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret S. (Ricker) Quilty sharing 35 years of marriage.

A lifelong resident of Natick he was the son of the late John J. and Helen (McKee) Quilty.

Mr. Quilty was employed at the Boston Edison Company as a Lineman for 32 years retiring in 1990.

He previously worked for the New York Central Railroad and served in the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal during the Korean War.

Mr. Quilty attended the Natick School system and graduated from Natick High School class of 1953.

He enjoyed sports in school and later played football for the Semi Pro Marlboro Shamrocks team of the Eastern Football League.

Most important to Charlie was his Family, Catholic Faith and helping any neighbor in need.

He was a daily Communicant at St Linus Church, as a young man Charlie and his family helped Father Sweeney in establishing the Parish in 1950. Every Pastor since was able to count on Charlie to assist on any committee, as alter server, usher or whatever task that needed to be accomplished.

On Vernon Road he was known to hundreds of families over the years as “Uncle Charlie” willing to lend a hand to fix anything, provide quality advice on projects, and was known for his keen Irish sense of humor.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two brothers Richard R. Quilty and his with Jane of Natick, Arthur E. Quilty and his wife Mary of Kingston, his sister in law Carol Quilty of Natick, and his many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late John J. “Jack” Quilty, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday November 3 at 9:00 from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church 119 Hartford Street Natick at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Internment St. Patrick Cemetery.
