Giovanni Rago passed away on October 27, 2017. He was 91 years old.
Giovanni was a longtime resident of Malden and formerly of Boston’s North End. He worked as a tailor for many years for Saks Fifth Avenue clothing store.
Giovanni was the beloved husband of 67 years to Giovanna (Archidiacono) Rago. He was the loving father of Nick Rago and his wife Rose of Hampton, NH and Rosetta Lavino and her husband Mario of Wilmington. Giovanni was the dear brother of Maria Rago of Middleton. He was the cherished grandfather of Niki, Jana, Lea, Carmine, Rosanna and her husband Anthony, and Joseph and his wife Stephanie. Great grandfather of Bella, Leia, Alisa, Gianna, Rocco, Nico, James and Gioia.
The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday October 31st at 8:45am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere Street, Revere at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. In lieu of flowers donations in Giovanni’s memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Rd. #200, Framingham, MA 01701.
