Obituary



WORCESTER - Mr. Robert N. “Yogi” Abraham, 84, passed away Monday October 23 at the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Mr. Abraham was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on September 13, 1933 a son of the late Salim A. and Annie R. (Abraham) Abraham.

He was educated through the Worcester schools, graduating from Commerce High School. Robert served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Upon his return, he worked as a foreman for over thirty years at Phalo Corporation, now currently call Cooper Belden. And up until his retirement later worked at Holy Cross College.

Mr Abraham was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Church where he was an alter server for over twenty years. Other memberships included the Syrian and Lebanese American Club, the Greendale Retired Men’s Club, the Grafton Hillers and Senior Center, and the Bernardi Social Club.

He was an avid baseball fan, a number one Yankee’s fan who never missed a game on his cable televison and was a great hitter, thus his nickname, Yogi.

Mr. Abraham loved to play cards and could be found playing with the same group of friends at the Syrian and Lebanese Club.

He will be forever remembered, loved and missed by his loving sister AileenT. Abraham and his brother, Ronald P. Abraham whom he resided with for many years.

Mr. Abraham also leaves his brother Richard J. Abraham Sr., his nieces and nephews, Peter Abraham, Michael Mooradian and his wife Lisa, Karen Corbin and her husband Tom, Richard Abraham II and his wife Lauren, Gregory Abraham, and Robert Lynch and his wife Karen, also his aunt, Patricia Abraham and her two sons, Paul and Michael.

He was pre-deceased by his brother, Arthur, his sister, Gloria Mooradian and her husband Anthony, and his sister in law, Deanna Abraham.

His funeral will take place on Friday October 27th at FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St. Worcester, MA. A Byzantine memorial service will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 11:00 am. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Oct 26th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery .
