Augusta, GA---Mrs. June Holtzclaw Tillman, 88, entered into rest on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Greenville, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the Platt’s Funeral Home Crawford Avenue Chapel with Reverend Phillip A. Winsett officiating. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery.
Mrs. Tillman was a native of Augusta. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was an excellent cook, who loved parties and was a very gracious hostess. Mrs. Tillman was very generous to her family, friends and those whom she really did not know. She was a devout Christian and was a devoted member of the Martinez Baptist Church and was a former longtime member of the Lake Park Baptist Church.
Mrs. Tillman was preceded in death by her husband, Monte Tillman, brother, Bill Holtzclaw and two sisters, Betty O’Brian and Grace Lagudi. Survivors include; sons, Monte R. Tillman (Paula) of Pulaski, GA, Charlie D. Tillman (Betsy) of Charlotte, NC, daughters, Susan Shiplett (David) of Greenville, SC, Beth Shearer (Barry) of King of Prussia, PA, eleven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the time of services at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
