Helen “Cin” (Nowicki) Tsigaridas, 91, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Webster Manor. Her husband of 43 years, Aristotle ‘Ted; Tsigaridas died December 14, 2011.She leaves behind several nieces and a nephew, 3 sisters-in-law: Florence Nowicki of Florida, Maria Econome of Dudley(who was also Cin's Godmother) and Elaine Patrinos of Topsfield.
Cin was born in Moosup, Ct., daughter of the late Stanislaw and Kamilla (Slywa) Nowicki and was predeceased by brothers, Edward, Theodore, and Joseph Nowicki and a sister, Louise Gucfa.
Cin and Ted owned and operated the former Aristotle Restaurant in Burrillville, Rhode Island, Cin was the manager of the kitchen and business and Ted was bartender. She grew up on a farm and continued to enjoy gardening at her home. Later she worked at the former Anglo Fabrics Co. in Webster, where she retired.
Cin was an active member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Webster and the Ladies Philoptochos Society of the church. She and Ted also enjoyed outdoor activities, especially ice fishing and would often have friends join them for coffee and hot dogs. They also enjoyed polka dancing and dining. Cin was an avid U. Conn. girls basketball follower, where her beloved brother Ed and sister-in-law Flo had attended. She was also the lady that whenever she saw you, would give you a candy from her purse, and was an ‘Outstanding’ cook and baker, meticulously dressed and very much a Lady.
A Funeral Service for Cin will be Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10AM in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 35 Lake Parkway, Webster. Interment will be next to her beloved husband Ted in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 1-3PM( At the Church)
A Trisagion Service will be Sunday at 2PM also in the Church.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 713, Webster, MA. 01570.
The ROBERT J. MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St. has been entrusted to direct and assist the family with arrangements, as per Cin’s wishes.
