Obituary

Robert F. Walsh, age 77, a lifelong resident of Winchester, passed away on October 19, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Margaret A. (Russo) Walsh.

Bob, as he was known, was born, raised and educated in Winchester. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam era, and was an employee of Sears-Roebuck for over 50 years until his retirement.

A warm and friendly man, Bob coached in the Winchester and Woburn Pop Warner football leagues and the Winchester Cal Ripken baseball leagues. He could be found on the sidelines on any given day, as a spectator or as a coach.

In addition to his wife, Margaret, Bob leaves behind his children, Robert “Robby” Walsh and Tracey McCormick; his step-children, Tina Harrington and her husband Jeff, Barry Coombes and Johnny Coombes. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Ashley McCormick and Tabitha Egnet and her husband Ryan.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Mon., October 23 from 6-8PM, and again on Tuesday at 9AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 10AM. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
