Dorothy A. Slater
Longtime Tewksbury resident

TEWKSBURY: Dorothy A. (Chute) Slater, age 83, a Tewksbury resident for over 30 years, formerly of Woburn, passed away at the Life Care Center of the Merrimack Valley in Billerica on Monday, October 16, 2017.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert B. Slater, who passed away on January 7, 2000.

Born in Malden on November 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Schwarzer) Chute.

Dorothy was raised in Everett and attended Everett schools.

Dorothy worked for many years at Bickford’s Restaurant in Burlington and the McManus Restaurant in Boston.

She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, and hosting family dinner parties.

She is survived by her children, Robert J. Slater and his wife Debra of Orangeville, CA, William P. Slater and his wife Kembra of Granite Bay, CA, Debra E. Ennis and her husband Ford of Tewksbury, Robin B. Romano and her husband Joseph of Lexington, April H. Rae and her husband Scott of Bedford, and Pamela J. Gray of Methuen; siblings, William Chute and his wife Nancy of Bar Harbor, ME, and Judith Hough of Pittsburgh, KN; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Dorothy was the sister of the late Linda Harriman.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 19 from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery will be at a later date. Please Omit Flowers. Donations in her memory may be made to Wilmington Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 1 Bridge Lane, Wilmington, MA 01887.
