Obituary

Jill Dian McDonald, 63, of Anderson, her husband and son were holding her hands at St. Vincent's Heart Center in Indianapolis passed away after a sudden illness.

Jill was born October 3, 1954 in Huntington, Indiana to Ethel and Barney Teeters. She graduated from Huntington North High School in 1972 and attended Ball State University. Jill met her husband of 42 years, J. Phil McDonald, in 1973 in London and they married June 21, 1975 at First United Methodist Church in Huntington. On June 26, 1979, Jill gave birth to her only son, Sean Patrick McDonald, (wife Alexandra) of Indianapolis.

Jill worked for many years at Citizen's Banking Company including the company transitions to Society Bank and Key Bank. She next worked as secretary at Dr. and Mrs. Betty Bush's Montessori School as well as assisting her husband in the daily operation of McDonald Realty Corporation. This was followed by six years of in-home childcare for the children of close friends. She next joined the staff at First Merchant's Bank in Pendleton as a teller for several years. Jill retired in 2016, but continued to care for children in the nursery of First United Methodist Church, Anderson.

She was an active member of Tri Kappa sorority since 1984 and was a past recording secretary and treasurer for Xi Chapter and served in various positions and was a faithful member of United Methodist Women.
Jill's family is grateful for the wonderful care and concern shown to her by St. Vincent's Anderson doctors and staff during her sudden illness as well as the doctors and staff at St. Vincent's Heart Center on 86th Street in Indianapolis.

Jill is survived by her husband of 42 years, J. Phil McDonald; her son, Sean Patrick (wife, Alexandra) McDonald and her grandson, Cillian James McDonald age 5, along with step-daughter, Tamara McDonald of Bloomington, step-daughter Holly McDonald of Phoenix, Arizona and step-grandson Ethan age 9.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Baker; father Barney Teeters, and her step-father Clifford Baker.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Please use the West entrance.

Jill's services will be held Friday; 2:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Anderson officiated by Senior Pastor Corinne Boruff. Visitation at the church begins at 1p.m. Friday. Burial will follow the services at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
