Obituary

Deborah M. (Christensen) Lapka, 67 of Peabody, died, Friday, October 13, 2017 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital following a long illness.

Born in Peabody and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Helen A. (Lavoie) Christensen. She and her family lived on Irving Street until the early 1970’s when the family moved to New Hampshire. She returned to Salem in 1983 and she continued her education earning her Associate Degree in Accounting from North Shore Community College. Mimi began working in bookkeeping for Ann & Hope and later worked in the accounting department for the New England Candy Company (NECCO) in Cambridge.
Deborah was a devoted mother and Mimi. She loved camping, travelling and was an avid reader.
She will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by her son, Todd Kousky and his wife Jennifer of Brunswick, ME, three daughters, Kim M, Fountain and her husband Jay of Danvers, Brandi L Durant and her husband Herbert of Peabody, Andrea Walsh of Beverly. She also leaves two brothers, Jeffrey and David Christensen both of Salem, twelve grandchildren , Chad, Paul, Eric, Anna, James, Christopher, Eva, Ashley, Adam, McKayla, Emily, Anthony and great grandson Cole. She was predeceased by her brother Michael Christensen and sisters, Cheryl Natheos and Candace Christensen.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM followed by a committal service in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
