FITZGERALD, Barbara L. (Ciampa), of Winthrop, passed away on October 14, 2017. She was 81 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late William H. Fitzgerald. Devoted mother of Edward W. Fitzgerald and his companion Theresa M. Ellard of Winthrop, Thomas H. Fitzgerald and his wife Cheryl of Winthrop and Sande G. Raney and her husband Ralph of Winthrop. Adored grandmother of Nicole M. Fiola and her husband Stephen of Salem, MA and Christopher W. Raney of Winthrop. Born in Winthrop, she was the cherished daughter of the late Harry and Eleanora T. (Salerno) Ciampa. Dear sister of Dr. Joseph H. Ciampa and his wife Sandy of Revere and George Ciampa and his wife Kristi of Swampscott. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Thurs, Oct 19, at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow in Winthrop Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Weds, from 4-8pm. Prior to her retirement, Barbara worked for the New England Telephone Co. and later worked as a florist for the former W. H. Ruttle Florist in Winthrop. She was an avid bowler, belonging to the Monday Elks Bowling League at the Winthrop Lodge of Elks and the Lynnway Sports Center and Lanes in Lynn, MA.
