Christine “Tena” (MacIntyre) Cugno age 86 of Brockton, died Saturday October 7, 2017 at her home after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Ernest V. Cugno, Sr. Christine was born and raised in Roxbury, a daughter of the late Angus and Mary MacIntyre and had resided in Brockton since 1961.
Christine was a stay at home mother who was devoted to her family and home. She especially loved being together with them to celebrate holidays.
In her free time she enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles and watching TV game shows. She faithfully watched daily Mass. A member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1046, she loved to dance and spend time with her friends on Friday nights.
Christine was the mother of Ernest V. Cugno, Jr. and his wife Faye of Holbrook, Jeanne Heenan , Catherine DeIuliis and her husband Peter, Chris Cugno and John Cugno and his wife Nancy all of Brockton and the late Daniel and Frederick Cugno and Patricia Matta. She leaves 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and was the mother-in-law of Daniel Matta and the late Rick Heenan. Christine was the sister of Florence Stowe of Brockton, Evelyn Easter of Weymouth, Catherine MacIntyre of Boston, Nancy Manganello of Hanson, Margaret MacIntyre of Boston and the late Mary Coyne, John, Donald and Joseph MacIntyre.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday 4-8 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 8 am for a funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 9 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
