John R. “Jack” Briggs, Jr., passed away unexpectedly at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was 70. Born in Jamestown, New York and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late John R. and Ann (Finn) Briggs. Jack graduated from the Medford Vocational Technical High School. He joined the Local 103 of the IBEW and worked as an electrician with the union throughout his life. He retired in 2004. He recently was honored for 50 years membership in the Union. Jack was devoted to his wife and daughter. He was a good family man and enjoyed traveling with his family.
The beloved husband of Brenda (Todd) Briggs, he was a devoted father of Jennifer “Jenny” Briggs of Medford. He was the dear brother of Steven Briggs of Melrose, Karen Uglietta of Saugus, Donna Briggs of Saugus, Debbie Ortiz of Burlington and the late Jimmy, Susan and Paul Briggs. He was the son-in-law of Helen M. Todd and the late William P. Todd, Sr. and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday, October 12 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
