Mildred Cardillo, 92

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Mildred (McManus) Cardillo, age 92, a resident of the Village at Willow Crossings in Mansfield, formerly of Natick and Englewood, FL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 8, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Ernest G. Cardillo.

Born in Keene, New Hampshire on July 30, 1925, she was a loving daughter of the late Bernard and Helen (Byrne) McManus.

Mildred grew up in Natick and was a 1942 graduate of St Bernard’s High School in West Newton She continued her studies, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1946 from Emmanuel College in Boston.

Mrs. Cardillo was a retired Administrative Secretary at the Dana Hall School in Wellesley and was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family.

A resident of Mansfield for the past eleven years, Mildred was a communicant of St Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She had previously resided in Englewood, Florida and Natick and was a former longtime parishioner of St Patrick’s Church in Natick.

Mildred loved spending time surrounded by her loving family and treasured the years while a resident of Florida.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children Carol A. Callahan and her husband Dan of Norton and James D. Cardillo and his fiancé Claudia of Connecticut. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Dani Callahan and Jack Callahan, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, October 19th at 10:00 A.M. in St Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, Mildred’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Guardian Angel Scholarship Fund at St. Mary’s Catholic School 330 Pratt Street Mansfield, MA 02048.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
