Mr. Charles Edward Winters, a resident of Haverhill, formerly of Andover, passed away at his home following a lengthy illness on Thursday, October 5, 2017. He was 69 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on July 19, 1948, he was the beloved son of the late Charles H. and Mary J. (York) Martin. Charles was a long time communicant of St. Augustine Church in Andover. In his spare time Charles enjoyed going to the movies, socializing with people and spending time at the Point After Club in Lawrence. The family would like to publicly and sincerely thank Charles’ CNA’s and the Merrimack Valley Hospice for their exemplary care given to him. He will be dearly missed.
Charles is survived by his loving daughters; Theresa and her husband Phillip Banks of Haverhill and Michelle and her husband Tommy Junkins of Haverhill, siblings; Kevin J. and his wife Eileen M. Winters of Methuen, James A. and his wife Judy A. Winters of Conway, New Hampshire and Belinda and her husband Paul Sapienza of North Andover, eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. He was also the uncle of the late Patrick and brother of the late Lt. Col. Michael J. Winters and Shawn M. Winters.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Tuesday, prior to the mass, from 9 to 10:30 AM. Interment will be held in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Andover. Donations in Charles’ memory may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Lawrence, MA 01843.
