Obituary

HOWARD, Sharon Ann, 74 ;11/19/1942-10/2/2017.
The world seemed little darker as Sharon Howard took her angel wings on October 2, 2017. Long time resident, candy shop owner, known as the toy lady in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, and long time member of the Buechel/Fern Creek Jayceettes.
She was a loving wife, mother, grammy, sister and friend. For all family and friends who had the privilege of knowing her, Sharon Howard lived her life dedicated to the service of others. She never met a stranger and never missed and opportunity to help someone in need. Sharon enriched many children's lives with her donation of toys. Most people knew of her passion for animal rescue and it wasn’t uncommon she was the first person called when an animal was in need. We are certain that God himself and her daughter Angel met her at the gates.
She is survived by her spouse of 54 years James “Jim” Howard, sons Bill (Renee) and Matthew (Sheryl), 4 grandsons, Matt, Stephen, Jonathan and Andrew. Also survived by her brother Mike Asbury (Diane) and nephew Travis Howard (Emily), along with other family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday October 6, 2017 from 4-8pm at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road. Services will be 11am Saturday at Summit Heights United Methodist Church, 7400 Outer Loop, with visiting beginning at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Sharon Howard to Down Syndrome of Louisville.
