Malcolm M. McClean, 77

Malcolm M. “Max” McClean, age 77, of Mansfield, formerly of Medford and Winthrop, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (DeAngelis) McClean, to whom he was wed on May 29, 1966.

Born in Boston, MA on February 13, 1940 he was a loving son of the Wallace B. and Helen (Moller) McClean.

Max grew up in Winthrop and was a graduate of Winthrop High School. Prior to retiring, Mr. McClean had been employed as a truck driver for the Teamsters Local 25 for many years.

Max had made his home in Mansfield for the past year and was a former longtime resident of Medford. He loved spending time with his family, and his hobbies included skiing, playing golf and being an avid fan and supporter of the New England Patriots.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children Michael W. McClean and his fiancé Rebecca of Slatersville, RI and Wendy A. Merrill and her husband Joseph of South Easton. He was the dear brother of W. Elizabeth Murphy and her husband John of Hingham. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren Samantha, Maxwell, Mackenzie and Alexis, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of his life on Saturday, October 14th at 4:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
