Obituary


Norman A. Richards, age 62, a longtime resident of Woburn passed away unexpectedly, October 2, 2017, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of Donna E. (Haubner) Richards, together sharing nearly 33 years of marriage. Born in Salem, MA Norman was one of five children of Jeannie C. (Fontaine) Richards of Salem and the late Edward J. Richards.

Norman was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School. He began working for the Coca Cola Co. at the age of 19 and has been a dedicated employee ever since. He was currently working in the cooler service department. Mostly devoted to his loving family, Norman enjoyed coaching his children in youth sports when they were younger, spending time poolside at his home with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing at Horn Pond, listening to music and attending concerts. He was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and was a season ticket holder for over thirty years. He will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends.

In addition to his wife and mother, Norman is survived by his loving children; Brad Richards of Woburn, Eric Richards of Woburn, and Leah Richards of Ellicott City, MD. Cherished brother of Bob Richards and his wife Martha of Orrington, ME, Tom Richards and his longtime companion Sue Sisolak of Topsfield, Carole Grifoni and her husband Vincent of Peabody, Ron Richards and his wife Joy of Athens, ME. He is also survived by many loving brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday, October 6th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Norman's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
