Allan Andrew Buote, 69

Allan Andrew Buote, 69, of Norton died at home with his family by his side on Monday, October 2, 2017 after a hard battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Downey) Buote, daughters Jennifer O’Neill of Norton, Ann Sahakian (Ara) of Los Angeles, CA, Alanna Fedor (Jay) of Howell, NJ, and Erin Buote of Norton, as well as his sister in law Theresa Downey, whom he raised since she was a child. His grandchildren were the light of his life and they all adored their Papa. He leaves great memories and love for Rory O’Neill, Chloe and Alex Sahakian, Jack, Jay, and Joey Fedor, as well as his grand dog Maisie. He also leaves behind his beloved sisters Eileen Haggerty and Doris Horrigan of West Roxbury, as well as many nieces and nephews including Caroline Henderson. He was pre deceased by his brothers, Edward, Leonard, Arnold, and son in law Jeff O’Neill.


Allan was born into a large family of six children and grew up alongside his nieces, nephews, and siblings in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. He graduated from Boston Technical High School and began work at New England Telephone in 1967. He spent 35 years working as a lineman, construction manager, and finally consultant. He married Mary Ann Downey in 1971 after being friends for their entire lives. They raised five daughters in Norton, whom he adored and were only surpassed in his love by his six grandchildren. Allan was a friend to many, from the kids he grew up alongside, to his many clients as he worked well into retirement at Le Limo limousine service in Shrewsbury. He was a licensed contractor who also spent time building the addition onto his home as well as helping family and friends build real estate offices, restaurants, renovate homes, or just provide a little support when needed.

His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, 5th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 4th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
