Judith (Lohnes) Petruzzelli, a resident of Chelsea formerly of Medford, passed away at her home on Monday, September 25, 2017. She was 62 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on July 21, 1955, she was the beloved daughter of the late Herbert and Marion (Downie) Lohnes. She attended schools in North Reading, MA. After graduation she attended and graduated from Blaine Beauty Academy in Boston, MA. Judy had a life long love of and affinity for animals of all types. As a young woman she worked for a local Veterinarian as a veterinary technician, a job she greatly enjoyed. She also worked briefly in NH at the Pleasant Lake Veterinary Hospital as a veterinary technician. Judith had been employed by the City of Revere as the Animal Control Officer for many years and was well known for her work in this capacity. She was interviewed by reporters, and had write-ups on her work in the local newspaper. In her spare time she enjoyed music, drawing, writing poems and spending time with her granddaughter. Judy was a unique woman with a zest for life. No matter what she did she threw her heart and soul into it with boundless energy.
She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving son and his fiance; Jamey Petruzzelli and Ashley Vasquez, both of Everett, brother; David and his wife Diane Bell of South Carolina, sister; Wendy and her husband Scott McKenney of Georges Mills, NH, granddaughter; Jaylee Petruzzelli of Everett and nieces and nephews; Melanie Clark, Julia Green and Thomas, Nickolas and Adam McKenney and Nathan Bell.
Visitation will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Saturday, September 30, 2017, from noon to 1 PM. Memorial service will be held at 1 PM.
