Passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 22, 2017 after a 3 year struggle with ovarian cancer. She was a graduate of Johnson High School & a 24 year employee of Eagle Point Elementary in Oakdale. Preceded in death by father Robert Thompson; brother Craig Thompson. Survived by loving husband of 44 years, John; children Amy (Roger) Matza, Eric (Andrea), Allison (Casey) Engelke; grandchildren Ava, Alec, Gigi, Macie; mother Joyce Thompson; aunt & uncle Janet & Jim Long; sister-in-law Mary (Mark) Lynch; brother-in-law Jim Elert; nieces & many, many friends. Funeral service Monday (9/25) 11:00 AM at GETHSEMANE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2410 Stillwater Road, Maplewood, with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to MN Ovarian Cancer Alliance.
