Obituary

Robert W. "Bob" Kilcoyne, a longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his home in Charlestown. He was 83 years old.

Bob was born in Boston on October 22, 1933, a son of the late Eugene Kilcoyne and Josephine (Maguire) Kilcoyne. He grew up in Watertown where he was educated in the Watertown Public School system and graduated from Watertown High School in 1940 where he excelled in baseball, basketball and football. Bob furthered his education and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Bentley College and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance Babson College. Bob enlisted into the United States Army and served his country faithfully and with pride during the Korean Conflict. Bob worked as a stockbrocker in Boston for many years with Cowen & Company and Royal Bank of Canada. Bob enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Oakley Country Club in Watertown. He was also an avid baseball fan. Bob's passion in life was his family and he took great pride watching his grandchildren grow up and the accomplishments each one of them have achieved.

Bob is the beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Murphy) Kilcoyne. He is the devoted father of Patrick Kilcoyne and his wife Joanne, Susan Charbonnier and her husband Boston Police Sergeant Michael and Stephen Kilcoyne and his wife Donna-Marie. He is the loving Papa to Noel, Isabelle, Mary, Patrick, Stephen, Jack and Mallory. He is the beloved brother of John "Jack" Kilcoyne and the late Marilyn Chamberlin, Joan Costello, James Kilcoyne and Eugene Kilcoyne. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob's Funeral on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellesley. His visiting hours will be on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
