Obituary

James J. King, age 95, passed away peacefully September 22, 2017. Jim was born in Boston then raised and educated in Roxbury. He served in the Navy from 1942-46 on the USS Yorktown CVC-10. When he returned he met his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary, and they settled in Weymouth where they have resided ever since. He enjoyed volunteering his time with Weymouth Babe Ruth Baseball and the Cardinal Cushing Center in Hanover. Jim worked as a salesman for a chemical finishing company in Medford, MA for over 20 years.

Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary King (Murphy), and his parents James P. and Leanore King (Miller). He is survived by his children Jacquelyn King, and Jay King and his wife Alice; his grandchildren Stephanie and Joshua King.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Jim on Sunday September 24, 2017 from 3-6pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home for a Celebration of Life at 8:30am Monday prior to the Funeral Mass for Jim which will take place at St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30am.
