Arthur Robert Martin, age 86, of Canton, MA passed away peacefully on September 21, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center surrounded by family. He was born April 12, 1931 at Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA. His older brother Frederick D. Martin of Cambridge, NY pre-deceased him in 1992. Born to the late Frederick and Mary (Ferland) Martin, Arthur grew up in Norwood and graduated from Norwood Senior High School class of 1949 with his brother Fred.
He worked in the book bindery industry primarily as a folding machine operator for the Plimpton Press in Norwood, Halliday Lithograph in Plympton, and went on to work at Daniels Printing in Everett before retiring. He also enjoyed driving school buses in many of the surrounding towns. He worked for Undas Bus Line in Stoughton, Sansone's in Norwood, and Michael J. Connolly & Sons in Walpole.
Arthur loved fishing, camping, using his metal detector on the beach and going to auctions and flea markets. He was an especially proud grandfather and felt great joy spending time with his grandchildren.
Father of Brenton Martin and his wife Melanie of Canton and Dana Martin and his wife Sheri of Andover. Grandfather of Katherine, Lilyanne, Josephine, Alexandra and Nicholas. He was pre-deceased by his former wife Marguerite M. Garnhum.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St. Canton, Thursday 4-7 P.M. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton, Friday morning September 29th at 10:30. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
