Obituary



BUXTON- Glennis Arlene Mowatt, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sept. 20, 2017, surrounded by her beloved family.

She was born in Buxton on May 12, 1933, a child of the late Adelbert and Eleanor (Rankin) Townsend.

After graduating from S.D. Hanson High School in Buxton, she went on to attend secretarial school at SMVTI.

Glennis was employed by Sebago Shoe in both Westbrook and Bridgton.

She was a member of the Buxton Center Baptist Church, the Buxton Food Co-op, Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a lifetime member of Pleasant River Chapter #159 – Order of the Eastern Star.

She will always be remembered for her love of family and friends, her willingness to help other people - especially those in need, and her love of quilting, crafts, knitting, crocheting and feeding the animals around her home.

She is predeceased by both her husbands- Robert Wormwood and Cecil Mowatt; son- Delbert Wormwood; and her brother- Allan Townsend.

Glennis is survived by her daughter- Elizabeth “Leann” Pratt and her husband Lee of Buxton; her grandchildren- Tina, Chris and Nick; great grandchildren- Riley, Zoe, Kevin, and Kira; and step great grandchildren- Sydney and Tyler.

A private memorial service will be held at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel in Buxton.
