In Taunton, Joan M. (McCarthy) Martin September 19, 2017, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 78. Joan was the wife of her beloved husband Manuel Martin of Taunton. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Charles & Josephine (Ayles) McCarthy. Joan had resided all her life in Taunton. She was educated in Taunton schools, a Taunton High School Graduate and received her associate’s degree in business from Newbury College. She enjoyed snow mobiling, shopping for bargains, collecting teddy bears, sports and looked forward to all her family being at her home for the holidays. In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her children, Scott Martin of Lakeville, Paul Martin of Taunton, Wayne Martin and his wife Audrey of Mansfield, Paulette Correveau of Forestdale, Christine Morris and her husband Jeffrey of Taunton, Michelle Correveau and her companion Vinnie of N.Y., and Joanne Matos and her husband Manuel of East Taunton. She also was the sister of the late Shirley Nelson and Carolyn Duquette. Joan also leaves several nieces and nephews. Joan also is survived by all her cherished grandchildren. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. Taunton, Ma 02780 on Monday, Sept. 25th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday from 4-8 pm. Burial will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
