Obituary

Theresa (Dauphin) (Jacinto) St. Hilaire passed peacefully on Sunday September 17, 2017 at Wingate at Haverhill surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Theresa was born in Gorham NH on January 24, 1930, to Joseph and Delia (Morissette) Dauphin. She attended a one-room school house before moving to Lawrence in 1942 where she attended Sacred Heart School in South Lawrence.
Throughout her life Theresa was always the first to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She cared for several family members during their health struggles, always making sure they made it to their appointments and patiently waited while they were having their treatments. Whenever anyone needed a place to stay or something to eat her door was always open and there was always room for one more at the table.
Theresa began her 38 year career in the electronics industry in 1953 at Symphonic Electronics in Lowell, MA. She retired in 1991 as a re-work specialist from Modicon Corp in Andover, MA. Theresa was pre-deceased by her husband Marcel St. Hilaire. She is survived by her daughter Carol (Jacinto) Barnaby and her husband Michael of Haverhill with whom she resided for more two years, Sons, Joseph Jacinto and his partner Antonio Arango and William Jacinto and his partner William Doherty both of Wells ME, three granddaughters, Laurie Rennie and her husband Malcolm of Plaistow NH, Amy Harriman and her husband Daniel of Groveland and Tiffany Green and her husband Jason of Auburn NH and three grandsons, Timothy Chouinard and his wife Lauren of Methuen, Michael Chouinard and his wife Kristen of Litchfield ME and Jeremy Chouinard and his wife Amy of Windham NH as well as twelve great grandchildren, Alexa Rennie, Katie, Natalie and Danny Harriman, Genevieve and Joshua Green, Emma, Reilly, Melina, Amelia, Gabrielle, and Gianni Chouinard.
Theresa also leaves her only surviving sibling, Delia (Dee) Dauphin of Pierce CO, and of course Harley, the black lab whom she dearly loved and referred to as “the best friend she ever had.”
Besides her parents and her husband Theresa was also predeceased by her grandson Shaun D. Jacinto who will be forever 11 having passed away on March 21,1982, as well as her siblings, sisters Marie-Ann Vanteemsche and Lucille Spitoleri and brothers Eugene, Alfred, and Joseph Dauphin and her dear friend of nearly 20 years, John Cyr.
Theresa’s family would like to thank all of the C Wing staff for the kind and compassionate care she received and a special thanks to her nurse Cindy and everyone who cared for her everyday who treated her with the respect and dignity she deserved and for that we will be eternally grateful. We also would like to extend a special thank you to Michelle Guilfoyle who was always there with a hug and kiss, it was obvious to all who saw mother’s little wink that she loved her too.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church-St. Theresa Parish, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery of Tewksbury.
