Obituary

Paul S. Porcaro, 97, of Anderson, died at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield after an extended illness.
He was born December 26, 1919 in New York City, New York, the son of Joseph and Carmella (Pizapaolo) Porcaro.
He was a security inspector for the Department of Defense and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a First Sgt in the Army Air Corp during World War II from January 1942 to January 1946.
He enjoyed golf and was involved with the Special Olympics of Madison County. Paul loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Dr. Joseph (Joanne) Porcaro of Anderson; four grandchildren, Kathleen (Dan) Shepler, Paul Porcaro all of Anderson; Theresa (Joe) Wrin of Pendleton and Christine (Brandon) Galbraith of Kokomo; 17 great grandchildren, Zachary, Audrey, Andrew and Sarah Shepler; Brennah, Kate, Helen, Mara, Sadie, Brogan and Stella Wrin; Kaelyn, William and Ayvah Scarberry; Owen, Adelynn and Nora Galbraith; three sisters, Rose Rosa of New Jersey, Yolanda Taylor of Garden City, NY and Mildred Dragotti of North Carolina several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Sadie (LaPollo) Porcaro who died June 21, 2017; his parents, two brothers, Joseph and Patrick Porcaro; two sisters, Katherine Costa and Anna Roseto.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017at Saint Mary's Catholic Church with Father Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent De Paul Society.
